Our services

Bladder dysfunction
Urinary incontinence (involuntary leaking of urine) affects about one in three women, and physiotherapy is a first-line treatment for both stress incontinence (leaking with coughing or sneezing) and overactive bladder (urgency, sometimes with leaking). Men can also experience bladder leaking or other urinary concerns that physiotherapy can help with. We can also support you if you have difficulty emptying your bladder (voiding dysfunction) or pain when you urinate.
-
Bowel dysfunction
Bowel problems are common, though often difficult for people to talk about. We can help if you’re experiencing constipation, bowel urgency (needing to rush to the toilet), incontinence (bowel accidents), difficulty controlling wind, or pain with bowel movements. Our approach focuses on improving comfort, confidence, and bowel control.
-
Pelvic pain conditions
Persistent pelvic pain affects a significant proportion of women and men. Some people have a diagnosed condition such as endometriosis, while others never receive a clear explanation for their pain. We work collaboratively with your broader healthcare team to improve pain and daily function using evidence-based strategies, including hands-on treatment when appropriate.
-
Painful sex
Pain with sex can occur for many reasons, including vaginismus, childbirth recovery, cancer treatment, and other pelvic conditions. Physiotherapy can be highly effective in reducing pain and improving comfort for many people. We provide a safe, supportive approach tailored to your individual needs.
-
Pelvic organ prolapse
Pelvic organ prolapse can create a sensation of bulge or heaviness in the vagina. We offer a range of treatment strategies to improve your symptoms and support daily function. Our physiotherapist is also trained in pessary fitting, which may provide earlier relief and help you return to the activities you enjoy.
-
Pregnancy care
We support all aspects of physiotherapy care during pregnancy. Common concerns such as pelvic girdle pain, back pain, and carpal tunnel symptoms often improve with physiotherapy. We also provide pelvic floor assessments early in the second trimester and again around 35 weeks to guide birth planning and optimise outcomes. Our physiotherapist stays current with research on pelvic floor risk factors and can help you make informed decisions with your obstetric team.
-
Perineal massage
Perineal massage from 35 weeks has been shown to reduce the risk of 3rd and 4th degree tears by around 64%. Many women hear about it but find it difficult to do themselves or feel unsure about asking a partner for help. We offer short, twice-weekly appointments from 35 weeks for our physiotherapist to perform perineal massage for you. An initial one-hour assessment is required before starting these sessions.
-
Post-natal care
We recommend all women have a pelvic floor assessment at around six weeks post-natal to support safe return to exercise and identify any pelvic floor issues early. We can assist if you’re experiencing urinary leakage, prolapse symptoms, or pain with resuming sex. Our goal is to help you recover confidently and return to the activities you enjoy.
-
Pre and post gynaecology surgery
Physiotherapy before gynaecology surgery (such as hysterectomy or prolapse repair) helps set you up for a smoother recovery. We provide guidance on pre-surgery strategies, optimise pelvic floor muscle function, and ensure you know what to expect after surgery. A post-operative appointment around six weeks allows us to assess your progress, guide rehabilitation, and support your return to safe activity.

Pelvic health conditions in female athletes
Female athletes at all levels can experience pelvic health concerns such as urinary incontinence, prolapse, or pain. Our physiotherapist is experienced in supporting athletes to optimise pelvic floor function and performance. We tailor management to your sport, training load, and goals.

Men’s health
Men can experience a wide range of pelvic health issues, including urinary incontinence, problems emptying the bladder, persistent pelvic pain, and bowel concerns. We provide evidence-based physiotherapy to improve comfort, control, and quality of life. We also offer pre and post-prostatectomy care to help you regain continence more quickly.
